Winged Wonders

Malabar Grey Hornbill (male) photo- Omkar Dharwadkar

Malabar Grey Hornbill (female) photo- Omkar Dharwadkar

Most birds seem to go unnoticed, unless you look for them consciously. It was only after the College Nature Study Centre purchased cannon S5 IS digital camera, that my students and me could capture these winged wonders in the digital trap. People viewing these images did not believe that such birds frequent the town.

The Female and Male Malabar Grey Hornbill captured by my student Omkar Dharwadkar, are regular visitors on Bread Fruit tree in the heart of Ponda town (GOA).

This species of Hornbill is ENDEMIC to Western Ghats
