Last month I switched from Hero Octane DTB1 to TREK 3700 Mountain Bike. TREK 3700
Price - 13500/-
Frame size - 18"
Wheel Diameter - 26"
Suspension - Front RST 191 63mm travel
Gears - 21 speed Shimano Aera
Shifters - Easy fire

The feel of the bike is great. The gears shift much quicker as compared to Octane. The gear ratios are real good, can take climbs at great ease.

Hi Ajay,
Was just going through your blog. I found your hobbies pretty interesting. I myself am a Goan currently working for Satyam Computers in Hyderabad.
Wish to be friends with you so that I can catch up with you when I come down to Goa next time ( I was there this weekend).
My home town is Savoi Vere, 10kms from Ponda. I am sure you must have visited it. :-)
Where do you teach?
Actually, main reason for writing to you is that I am thinking of taking up cycling. And want your advise on buying a good bicycle. My office is 7Km from my apartment in Hyderabad and I intend to commute everyday. Which street bike i should buy, what are the features i should be looking for. can you give your opinion?
BTW, the email id you have given, doesn't work :-)
Take care and see you soon.

Hi Laukik nice to Know that U R interested in Cycling and U R from Goa.
I have shifted To, U can read more on cycling and my other activities there.
If U intend to commute to work only then U must go for a hybrid kind of bike. U can think of racer kind bike as well (has dropped handle bar).
CHAMPS FITNESS PLANET - CHURCH SQUARE PANAJI has some real good bikes from FIREFOX and TREK, Price range being 5000/- to 35000/-.
